For years, The New Media Film Festivalhas led the way in the pursuit of stories worth telling, the exploration of new media technologies, boundary pushing resulting in new distribution models and creating and establishing new methodologies in the global monetization of content. The New Media Film Festival embodies the transformative power of the cinematic arts and it reaches across cultural bridges to wed story and technology for everyone.

We give back

Each year we donate to a different non-profit and give tickets to students. In addition, we have giveaways via our newsletter.

Recipients include EyeCare4Kids, Sea Research Foundation, Toys For Tots, EIC, Solartopia. Giveaways include tickets to see Big Hero 6 on the Walt Disney Lot, Pond5 $100 Cards, Jane Goodall Doc tickets, HD Drone & more.

Susan Johnston — Founder/Director– Award Winning Producer & New Media Expert

David Kleiler — Artistic Director– PhD NYU Cinema Studies. Advisor, Founder & Programmer of many festivals. Saved Coolidge Corner Theatre & worked on JFK campaign.

David Ari Leon — an Emmy award winning music supervisor and composer with over 1,500 film and TV credits spanning more than 25 years. As a music supervisor, notable credits include the film "Les Misérables" starring John Malkovich and the primetime TV series "State of Grace" starring Frances Mcdormand. He has composed music for many hit titles including "Superman" (Warner Bros), "Captain America" (Marvel), and "Woody Woodpecker" (Universal). As a songwriter, David has written themes for hit TV shows such as "Avengers" (Disney) and "Radio Active" (Fox). As a musician, he has been featured on the NPR shows "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered." Currently, David is music supervising and composing for two TV series on ABC: The Emmy winning show Sea Rescue, as well as the Emmy nominated series The Wildlife Docs, both airing weekly in the U.S. and worldwide.

Randall P. Dark — is considered a pioneer within the digital media industry and renowned international expert in emerging technologies. CEO, Randall Dark Productions, he founded HD Vision in Toronto, New York City and Dallas and co-founder and creative force behind HD Vision Studios in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Television Arts and Sciences Academy. Over the years Dark and his companies have been involved in hundreds of projects including feature films, documentaries, commercials, music videos, corporate presentations, product launches, and live events just to name a few.

Ron Proulx — Advisory Board– CEO The Rights Company and Arpix Media 2 X Gemini Winner

Randy Bellous — Advisory Board– 11-X Award Winning TV Producer. President & Executive Producer of Register 9 Productions LLC.

Erin Gray — Advisory Board– Award Winning Actress known for Buck Rogers & the 25th Century, Silver Spoons, Dreams Awakw

Dr. Steve Small — Advisory Board– Leader in Quantum Health field.

Peter Crosman — Advisory Board– Award Winning Visual Effects Designer & 2nd Unit Director with diverse credits such as Across the Universe, Scooby Doo, Idlewild & more.

Q: If I’m accepted, do I get a Badge?

A: If you are accepted into the festival, you receive one filmmaker badge that allows you into the entire festival happenings and screenings and discounts for more valid for a limited time. You will be responsible for deliverables which include but are not limited to a300DPI 475 x 125 jpg of a poster or still from the film, an h.264 or .mp4 or DCP or Blu Ray or DVD to screen by the due date requested on your email.

Q: IMDB does not list me yet.

Q: If the site says Sold Out will tickets be available for no shows?

A: Yes. Feel free to show up, check at the registration desk for badges or tickets that become available. There is also a networking lounge that you can enjoy so come out and visit us at the festival.
